Happy New Year! Today is the day that I, like basically everyone else, reflects on the year I just lived and year I’m about to live. I’m one of those people that loves reflecting on the past and making plans for the future, which is exactly what I intend to do here today.
2022 was a good year. A lot happened in the past year that has helped push me into a place where I am healthier and happier than I was the prior year. This year I quit my teaching job, turned 30, and committed to the launch of my business. I also focused on mending my mental health, joined a gym, and tried to dedicate time each day to be present with God. Those things have left me with few regrets about the past year, and excitement about what is next.
As I look forward to the next year, I definitely have things I want to make “better” about my life and myself. I want to declutter my home, getting rid of things that don’t serve me, don’t bring my peace, or I don’t like. I want to become physically healthier by going to the gym consistently, eating more vegetables, and drinking water. I want to work on my individual faith journey by spending time with God both at Mass and at home. I want to continue to grow my business. I want to be a present and love wife, mom, daughter, and friend. If I were to write down a list of “Resolutions” those would all make the list.
I saw a video recently on TikTok talking about how instead of creating New Year’s Resolutions they list out 100 things (big or little) that they want to accomplish in a year. That got me thinking about my own resolutions, and I’ve decided that I’m going to try that this year. So I sat down and wrote out 100 things I want to accomplish this year. I didn’t think too hard about how big or little those things were, and to be honest it was pretty difficult to think of 100 things, but I did it and it made me realize what I really want out of my year is to experience life, become a person at peace with myself and my surroundings, and just be a happier person.
I’m going to work hard this year to accomplish all 100 things, and I challenge you to try and do the same. I’ve included a few of my 100 things below (mostly because I figured no one wanted to read all 100).
I’d love to hear about your 100 things! Let me know what’s on your list and I wish everyone a Happy New Year!
